Our purpose

The primary purpose of the UMC shall be the advancement of education of those living in the United Kingdom from the Congolese/ M’mbondo community, in particular, but not exclusively through the provision of education, training and workshops on the subject.

Teamwork

The UMC emphasises interpersonal relationships based on love (Lú’úndú), care and mutual respect. In our relationship with the wider community and external organisations, we seek to co-exist in harmony to ensure that any help is tailored to meet the needs of those we serve. We constantly seek better ways of serving the community.

Our Approach

Founded in London since 2002, United Kingdom M’mbondo Community (UMC) is mainly made up by people from FIZI / ITOMBWE territories, eastern of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

UMC offers services and support on issues pertinent to the M’mbondo community in the United Kingdom.

We have the ability to celebrate each other’s successes, skills and the expertise members bring to the Unity.

Leadership

We celebrate the willingness of the Leadership team to take on board constructive criticism to bring about solutions for the common good of our community.

Vision and Mission statements

The UMC envisions becoming the leader in the development of BaBembe homeland (FIZI-ITOMBWE) and plays the leading role in the peacebuilding and stability in the region. With our motto being: Emo (Unity) – Lú’úndo (Love) – Makéléléshú (Development).

Mr. Wenya Rajabu

Chair

Shall preside over all UMC’s meetings and actively supervise the implementation of UMC’s decisions.

Mrs. Balomona Makobola

Vice-Chair

She shall assist the Chairperson and shall assume the responsibilities of the chairperson in his absence.

Mr. Amini Mupenda

General Secretary

He shall be responsible for the coordination of all activities of the UMC.

Mr. Adolph Andolo Aoci

Treasurer

He shall be responsible for the UMC’s financial records.

Mr. Papy Kashindi

Vice-Secretary

He shall assist the General Secretary and coordinate the activities of the UMC in his absence.

Mr. Kiza Mnena

Adviser

Provides independent guidance, ensures compliance, and supports trustees with informed decisions.

Mr. Etabo Musenga

Advisor

Offers strategic advice, governance support, and strengthens organisational accountability and direction.
